Yeah I think our exposure to evolution as a theory is coming soon for my oldest. So far I don't think she has any idea what it is or what it means, but I don't want her to be ignorant of what the culture as a whole believes, so I think videos/resources that present the idea and talk about how God's word is truth and more true than what humans can come up with is a good thing at this point.
Of course we've seen videos and programs, since we frequent the library, that talk about how dinosaurs lived 65 billion years ago... she has no idea of what that means, but she has asked "are dinosaurs in the Bible?" and we've talked about that too, but she doesn't really know what evolution is yet. And again, I want her to know, and to know God's truth. Is that coming up in the science with HOD? I've seen this other science curriculum at a homeschool conference that I think did a great job of presenting evolution, gave it a lot of time in fact, but talking about truth and how do we determine truth. Anyway... that's a little off topic for what I asked but I appreciate if anyone knows what's coming up HOD for us (we are 2/3 way through Beyond) and whether that will be covered there too. Thanks!

My husband, kids and I all loved the "Incredible Creatures that Defy Evolution". They were amazing! We've watched them over several times. We streamed them through Netflix (which is very inexpensive, btw) but I do believe that you can get them through Answers in Genesis.

We exposed our kids early on to "Answers in Genesis" materials. That has helped so much to enable my children to discern now what they're reading or hearing from other sources. Establishing the kids in truth, by using God's word, first - then they are able to know right away when they hear something contrary to that, that what they're hearing/reading is not true. We are in Preparing now and I am so pleased with the History perspective on Creation and the Ice Age. We are loving it and learning so much!MelInKansas wrote:Yeah I think our exposure to evolution as a theory is coming soon for my oldest.
