Hello everyone,
This summer my family will be moving to China as part of my husband's M.Div in world missions. I will be homeschooling our then 10 year old daughter who has been in a small Christian school since pre-school. She will have completed 3rd grade. I've checked the placement charts and she is falling between two levels. She is a very advanced reader, but she has dysgraphia, and writing is a struggle for her. My first thought was to place her in Bigger w/extensions, but I am wondering if Preparing would be better? I would love to hear others suggestions!

Re: new here-placement question
I personally would probably do Bigger if I had a child who had a hard time with writing. I'm sure others will chime in. I'll try and find the thread that compares the writing in the two curriulums and come back and post the link.

Re: new here-placement question
Hi leeannpal, and welcome to the board! I agree with John's mom, I think "Bigger Hearts..." would be a good fit. Bigger Hearts is a great program, and I think you would both really enjoy it. There is still enough of a challenge there for your dd, and you can add the extensions for her to read to fit her advanced reading skills. I would not do the written follow-ups to the extensions though, as the writing in the daily plans of BHFHG will be enough. I hope your upcoming move goes smoothly, and also that your dh will be able to reach the hearts for the Lord of those in China!
