I was just reading over some notes I had taken from a 'Learning Styles' workshop. I am not kidding when I say that dd places moderately in every category, strengths and weaknesses. Does anyone else have a child like this? I think that can make it difficult to know what approach to use sometimes, but it allows for the variety that HOD includes and has been good for dd. I had a visual, an auditory, and a kinestetic learner with our 3 older dc (although I didn't understand much of this at the time) Now I have one that is all three. So does mine. Pretty equal across the board. I was told that she's neither left or right brained, but has a good use of both. And that's good! I agree that HOD has a great use of all those areas.

That is actually good. A few years ago the big push was to discover your (or your students) learning style so you could emphasize that style. Now we are actually learning that for retention and long-term memory it is best to use all of the learning styles. This is one of the big reasons I chose HOD. Still, it doesn't hurt to know your child's learning style.

It is so interesting to discover your child's learning style, isn't it!
Plus, the older the child, the more the "true" learning style presents itself. 
At HOD, we plan for each learning style for every day of instruction, so the wonderful part is that no matter what learning style your child is... there will be something that appeals to that learning style. Plus, we are also developing every other learning style in your child as well, so we're seeking balance.
