Famous Men of Rome in CTC

Post by Juli » Tue Apr 19, 2011 8:58 pm

When I purchased CTC I was unable to buy all of the extension package as we were trying to economize :) But my daughter has LOVED the ones that we were able to get her. A friend of mine loaned me a book called Famous Men of Rome but it is published by Greenleaf Press. I am wondering if this is the same book because it would be such a blessing to her to have another good book to read as she is finishing her CTC guide and a great blessing to me as I am budgeting to buy RTR and PHFHG. Never again will I leave off any books from the recommended choices they are all SOOOO GOOD my daughters can not get enough of them. We laugh when people ask us if we will really read all those books...as if it is a chore!

I don't think it's the same. My oldest enjoyed the book you have, but I don't think it's the one listed with HOD.

ETA: Hmm, looks like they are the same. TOC from Carrie's recommendation is here. http://www.mainlesson.com/display.php?a ... =_contents
I think this is what you have. http://www.amazon.com/Famous-Men-Rome-H ... 1882514033#_ The content looks the same to me. :D

(PLMK if those links aren't ok, or just take them out.)

The greenleaf press book has pretty much the sale content but the Memoria press version added full color art and I think additional information. It's not quite the same, but I'm sure if you can't purchase the version HOD has, you could certainly still use the one you have and enjoy it!

Thanks so much. I didn't even think of comparing the Table of Contents...Duh  Anyways. I think what I have is not ideal but will serve its purpose for us (as a supplemental, just for fun read). Again, thanks!
