DITHOR

Post by StephanieF » Thu Mar 17, 2011 6:38 am

I have this already level 2/3 and may use it now and next yr with my soon to be 3rd grader. Would I buy "book projects to take home" grade 2 or 3? I'd buy it locally as I'm in the UK, from amazon and both are available through their market place and it was out of stock at HOD when I originally bought DITHOR

DITHR uses the Book Projects to Send Home Grade 2 for level 2/3, Grade 4 for level 4/5, and Grade 5 for 6/7/8. HTH! :D

Absolutely! That's what we've used this year and I think we'll continue with the level 2/3 again next year for 4th. I don't think my dc are ready to move onto the next level of workbook yet. I might change my mind on that, but level 2/3 is definitely plenty for 3rd grade. As far as the book package, choose that based on where you feel your dc is reading well. :D

Yes, the grade 2 Book Projects book is appropriate for a 3rd grader. The projects are fun and challenging :)

I'm using it with my 3rd grader and she just loves it. Because she's on the artistic side, I upped some of the suggested projects to match her interests and abilities. For instance, there is a quilting project and I think you're supposed to use wrapping paper (which is absolutely fine!!!). I had my daughter hand stitch some fabric to make a real quilted square. She even pressed the seams herself, and attached a piece of fabric to the back to give it a professional look. It was a wonderful experience for her as she is now crazy about sewing. Too bad I can't share photos, but alas, I'm not computer savvy.

There are lots of wonderful projects though. It has really made the book readings "come alive" for my daughter. My other kids can't wait to do DITHOR and Book projects next year.

anyway, gotta run.

This is slightly off topic, but I'm wondering if the "book projects to take home" can be shared between our girls, or if I need one for each of them!? Thanks!! :D

Yes, you can share between your girls, when you buy the book, you can make copies for your family. I just double checked and :D :D

The copyright reads as follows:
"Limited Reproduction Permission: Permission to duplicate these materials is limited to the person for whom they are purchased".
Success!! :D :D

How did I miss this "Book Projects to Take Home"??? I ordered my Beyond and DITHOR stuff at the end of last summer, but I didn't get this. So my son did the workbook without that!  I didn't know about it until I just read this post. I went and looked and there it was. Has it always been there? Oops. Well, what kinds of things are included in this workbook? I guess I will need it for next year! :)

On Day 15 of DITHOR when you pick a project to end your genre, Carrie has included a book project for each of the genre. The books were out of print, but I believe Carrie made a special arrangement and is still able to sell them!
So, perhaps when you ordered them HOD was out of them. I know when I ordered mine two years ago, they only had them for level 2/3. Now you will have something new to add to your ending projects for DITHOR next year! :D :D
