Hey, I can use a little accountability, too. I had lost most of my baby weight, but I think some snuck back on this LONG winter. :?

I went through part of a program called Weigh Down after I had my dd. The basic concept is "Don't eat if you're not truly, physically hungry." I know that's pretty logical, but it worked. I tend to eat when I'm not truly hungry, I just feel like it. :? (As Melanie was eating her apple pie, I had Oreos...Ohh chocolate. That's my weakness!)

I don't mind some accountability, but I am NOT posting my weight! :D

Well, I'll be brave and post my current weight-I weigh 164.8 lbs, and carry most of it in my lower half  But I am a little muscular, too, so I have to allow for that :D
For me, I can't have snacks, even healthy ones-I just tend to overdo it. Eating 3 square meals works best for me, which I am happy to say I did today, knowing I had to answer to you all :P I also took a long walk today-yay, me :!:

I am trying very hard to be good about what I eat today. So far I've had a reasonable breakfast, a large lunch and a small snack this afternoon.
I think my problem is that because I'm still nursing, my body won't shed those last few pounds. So my goal is to just eat better and get in shape. If I could fit back into my jeans from the summer I'd be as happy as could be.

See last summer, we had a very surprise pregnancy. We had just been able to be excited about it, when we had some complications and lost the baby. So now these extra few pounds and larger size jeans are a constant reminder that I'd like to finally be rid of.

(((Hugs))) My heart is with you. I also had a surprise pregnancy last summer, and lost the baby in September. Baby would have been due yesterday, which was also the anniversary of my mom's passing.

Oh we need a big group hug! :( I haven't shared this with anyone, but my last miscarriage was Dec. 31. It is so hard even though it wasn't my first. The hardest part is coming to the realization that my 3 will be the only 3 I have....and I need to accept that as God's plan for my family.

I think that's why losing weight is so physically and mentally hard for us...there's usually a LOT of emotional weight there as well.

I can't begin to tell you all how much this board means to me....you ladies are just the best! It's so nice to know we have so much in common and can lift each other up.

Melanie,

I am so saddened to hear this. If I could, I would come over now and give you a big, big hug  . You truly are an amazing person.

I think we should all count our blessings.

Ladies, thanks so much for sharing your hearts. There definitely are emotional issues involved when there is extra weight. I hope this weight loss effort will be a help to you, both physically and mentally. I'm so glad you felt comfortable sharing here; I will definitely keep you all in my prayers.

ok i'll be honest I'm usually 175# the good news is I have been for 3 years
the bad news is I have been 175# for 3 years. Before that I had gotten down at 146# and was into my size 10 jeans.

I did that by following this bible study online. I lost the weight over 6 months and kept it of for 2 years.
http://www.settingcaptivesfree.com/lords_table/
I'm not supposed to do it again but I may try to sneek in.. But I'm sure its this study that has kept me at the same weight for 3 years. the short hand version is Every day do 3 things Quiet time (cause your really hungry for God not food) , Eat Better. and exercise for 20 minutes (you get 2 days off a week). if I do 2 of the 3 i don't gain and if I do 3 of the 3 I loose...

For me food is an addiction. My illness makes areobic exercise difficult at times but I'm going to continue "burst training" and swimming as often as I can get to the pool.

Thanks for this!!!!!! it will motivate me to stop eating chocolate while I read the boards.

Tropical Fruit Smoothie
1 Cup Mango
1 Cup Pinneapple
1 Cup OJ
1 Banana (we only do a 1/2 - kids don't like it with a whole)

I add a handful of ice cubes (I like it slushy) and blend for about a minute.

Enjoy!
