So thankful for HOD/LHFHG...

Post by blessedwith2 » Sat Dec 05, 2009 1:03 am

Hi everyone! I just wanted to share a special moment with LHFHG this week. I have 2 dd's in LHFHG and just had a baby 2 months ago. This week, we worked on Unit 8. On the day we read the David & Goliath story and did the dramatic play activity, my husband drew Goliath's face (with help from our daughters) and hung it on the wall, then threw beanbags at it alongside our daughters. What a special moment it was, my husband and daughters were laughing and having fun reinforcing a Bible story together during our homeschool day, while my little one and I looked on...My cup truly runneth over! (I know my husband and daughters will always remember that day, too!)

LHFHG has been such a blessing! It has helped me to "re-establish" a solid, complete homeschooling routine while learning how to most effectively care for three little blessings and give each of them their special time with mommy and daddy! I am truly thankful to God for showing me this wonderful curriculum that Carrie has written for HIS glory! :)

What a special family moment! :D Kuddos to your dh for getting involved in the learning and the fun too, and for your making it easy for him to do so. :) LHFHG touched my dc's hearts and opened their minds to how history and Bible interconnect. You have a wonderful year with LHFHG ahead of you! :D

blessedwith2,

Thanks for letting us share a sneak peak inside your homeschool day! :D I have moments like the one you shared from LHFHG that I have stored in my heart and still treasure too! I can still remember doing the Goliath activity with my second son when he was in LHFHG, and he's in fifth grade this year! I remember my son being completely in awe of the height of Goliath. It really hit me too and forever cemented in my mind how much a boy like David trusted in the Lord! :D

Blessings,
Carrie

We loved that activity, too! I, too, am thankful for LHFHG. I will always treasure the fun times of learning and laughing together and the sweet times of cuddling up under our special blanket to read the Bible and the adventures of the characters in the Thornton Burgess books. What a blessing!
