I have decided to use Little Hearts for my five year old. I bought it this weekend at a Christian bookstore near me. It was so cute. I caught my 7.5 year old reading the teacher's manual. She saw me and said I love this curriculum. She wants to start next Monday. I have to agree with her I really like what I have read. I was very unsure since I have tried so many different curriculums, but I think this will work very well for us.
Now for my question. I am going to be using Little Hearts for my son with my dd joining in whenever she wants. I am planning on buying Bigger for my dd. I will probably have to get it used due to budget. Given that our budget is tight right now I was wondering how it would work to do the Bible devotions and Bible CD from Little Hearts for both kids. Plus that would give me something fun to add to Bigger when I use it for my son in a few years. Do you think that would work?

More Questions
Hi Jan! I'm so torn in my answer here because I truly do love Hymns for a Kid's Heart and Little Pillows in Bigger.... I think that if you are on a tight budget, I would say that you could do the devotional and the music in LHFHG with them both, but if possible, I think the $4.00 for Little Pillows in Bigger... would be well worth it. We've had such amazingly personal talks with the Little Pillows book, and it ties in very well with the weekly history theme, adding a very Christian element to it. It also really adds to the Bible Study portion of the theme. You could probably do without Hymns for a Kid's Heart and save that way, for now, and then later you could always get that. The hymns tie into the history theme as well, but you could learn them at a later date otherwise and probably still really enjoy them that way. I hope I understood your question correctly. I can understand tight budgets, and I hope you feel at peace with whatever you decide! Either way, you'll be doing exactly what I'm doing right now, LHFHG and Bigger..., and I know you'll enjoy them so much! I'm so excited for you, Jan, and for your children as well!

Jan,
I'm so glad that you'll get a chance to do "Little Hearts...". We are enjoying doing it with our third son right now.
As far as the memory work goes, you'll find that the verses in "Little Hearts..." are kept quite short, making the memorizing fairly painless. So, if your dd wants to do the memory work with your little guy, it shouldn't be too tough for her.
The verses in "Bigger..." are longer. When you're doing "Bigger..." you'll definitely want to make memorizing the Bible verses in there her priority, as they will tie in so well with her history lessons. Hope that helps!
Blessings,
Carrie
