Anyone skip the Hide 'em in my heart CD's?

Post by sharonb » Tue Apr 14, 2009 8:23 am

I'm trying to get Beyond as inexpensively as I can. Every dollar counts at this point! My children are very good at memorizing scripture without needing songs. We already own several Bible songs CD's, so they have plenty of music to listen to for fun. I'm wondering if it's a big deal to skip the CD part of the plans...

The CD's are not needed. They can be fun, but we've used other versions that DD has used in AWANA.

I have skipped them this 1/2 of the year too... we do AWANA and have bible memorization for Sunday School each week too.

The songs are great but not necessary if you're trying to watch your budget. We used it for a little while to help memorize the verses but stopped and now the kids listen to it whenever they feel like it but not for "school". So don't feel bad about cutting it out if you need to. The program works great with or without it!

I haven't done LHFHG or Beyond yet, but I would guess that the CD's aren't necessary for the program to work well. I have to tell you though, that the Hide 'Em in Your Heart CD's are my all-time favorite kids songs! We've been listening to and loving them for the last 7 years. :D

If you need to save some money, you can do without the CD. But, I have to say that the Hide Em In Your Heart CD's are 2 of my dc's all-time favorites! If you've got the 10 bucks, it's worth it.

As the other ladies have posted, you can certainly do without the music, but I must say they are terrific cd's, my daughter and son ask to listen to them all the time. It is so sweet to my dd sing her memory verses. :D

I borrowed them from a friend, only to find my son didn't gel with them. It made memorization ackward for him. Go figure. So we just memorized them from reading and writing them.
_I_ thought they were fantastic. It isn't a make-or-break thing. HOD will work wonderfully, just the same!

We have so many CDs around the house with Bible songs on them that I didn't purchase for LHFHG nor will I for Beyond. I am sure they are good but Emma does just fine with repetition and hand movements to memorize.

my kids love them, and if it helps, you can now get them in a 2 disc set that has Vol 1 and 2 together. Might be cheaper that way if you need both of them.
