Well, I don't know how it happened, but...

...both of my kiddos are a lot further ahead in Rod and Staff English than I realized for the guides that they're in. Ds in 8th using MtMM is about half-way through English 7 and dd in 6th using Res to Ref is just starting English 6. The only thing I can think that may be the reason they're so far ahead is we've missed a lot of school for various reasons, but I always made sure they did their "3 R's" on those days. So, I'm wondering now that my oldest will be heading into WG next year what he should do for English when he finishes English 7. And my dd will probably finish English 7 before she gets into the WG guide. Should they just move up to the next level in English?

Wow, that is amazing! :D The content is already pretty aggressive! I think I'd spread it out to a slower pace, so dc finish R & S English 8 by the end of their high school years. My ds in WG is ahead in his Geometry. I told him when he is done, he is done. :D However, he did say he might enjoy going back and looking at one of the chapters he thought he could have mastered better. He would not say that in regard to R & S English though - math is his thing. :D I guess if R & S English is REALLY your dc's thing, you could do R & S English 9, but that is written more as a reference anyway. Otherwise, as grammar is not even really required, just spreading it out over the remaining years so Level 8 is completed would keep their hand in it without it being overwhelming. HTH!

Awesome! That does help. Thanks so much, Julie! I'm sure they'll both be glad to hear they can start doing R&S at a slower pace now
