CTC & R&S English 4

I have an English 3 & 4 dilemma:
We didn't get to the Adjectives & Adverbs chapter in English 3. If I go back and do those, we won't hit upon those in R&S English 4 until a year after this year, due to it's half-pace schedule with CTC.
This makes me wonder if I should go back and do it or if it's a waste? I know it's useful in writing, but I do have some funny books on those by Brian Cleary, for a quickie once over the topic. So I could skip the rest of 3, just start English 4 and add in the funny books for a crash course during the "off grammar" days? This scenario would let me stay on track this year with 4 being half-pace.
Or, skip the review in English 4 which for us Chapter 1 clearly is and part of 2, go back and complete the Adverbs and Adjective chapter from English 3 then continue on the 1/4 pace of English 4.
Just once I'd like to stay on track this year.
What are your thoughts on the 1/2-pace and English 4 lessons?
