I just wanted to share, we had a great 1st day! I was a little worried about attitudes or them not being eager to do it, but they were very excited and eager and we had a great time! My 2 YO even did great with having time in her room and playing with her Color Wonder markers (I am picking out a fun activity for her to do during room time every day, this was the easiest one).
I am so glad I bought the huge laminated world map (I got a U.S. map too). We did that instead of marking it out with tape and the kids had fun walking on it and scooting cars on it to show Columbus's journey. I love how colorful it is. I thought I would be really happy with the maps because of all the map work that we will do this year.
My biggest worry was the copywork and spelling for my DD, since we didn't do that last year. I also really want to work on her form in handwriting so I am going to be sitting down with her to help her remember how to make letters the correct way. I've been letting her do too much freestyle or not paying attention when she was doing assignments. Anyway, with the encouragement, she did so great! After each word of the copywork she let out a whoop of joy over finishing it.
I really wasn't expecting that!
