One other question on DITHOR (Sorry!)

One last question: my girls who are doing PHFHG are in 4th grade but JUST turned 9 (5 days ago), so they're at the young end of 4th grade. We've never done a formal reading program/analysis, etc...would I be short changing them by doing DITHOR Level 2/3 for this year before going up to Level 4/5 next year? Thank you for all of your helpfulness~it looks like such a great program I'm just trying to understand it better before we dive in on Monday! ~Holly

I think placing them in the 2/3 student book sounds right. You can use whatever level of books you think works best for them. You can even mix and match from the book packs. Since the questions can require some deep thinking you can aim a little below their reading level if you want.

Thank you! I was hoping I made the right choice~I did choose the upper reading levels of Book Pack Level 3 to use with the Student Book Level 2/3. Glad to know I can choose whichever books I think are good for them! ~Holly

I just wanted to agree - I'd do the same thing - do 2/3 this year, and 4/5 the next year. This will build an excellent foundation and help DITHOR to be a success year after year.

Enjoy DITHOR - we sure have and continue to do so! Some of our best memories are DITHOR's projects, some of our favorite books are from DITHOR, and some of our best discussions have been from DITHOR. You have good days ahead.
In Christ,
Julie

Thank you Julie! I feel very confident about using 2/3 with them now~DITHOR looks like SOO much fun...I'm an avid reader and have passed that on to my girls (yay!).
