Box Day!

Post by netpea » Thu Jul 14, 2011 10:15 pm

Yay! Our box came today. I just got it open and spread all the books for CTC out on the table and my husband said "Whoa, that's a lot a books." His next comment was "I'd like to read some of those." Hope my son feels the same way! Looking forward to a great year learning for His glory!

YAY!!! :D The books in CTC were really great! :D You're in for a treat of a year. I was actually thinking (as I replaced the CTC books in the cupboard with the RTR ones) that I should read the history books that my son did on his own. Haven't done it yet...but sometime before my kids are done with them I will. Maybe this winter when it gets dark a little earlier and I have some down time on the couch when they're in bed...

This is the thing I don't like about independent work - me missing out on the books. :( I don't foresee me finding time either since my "to read" pile got so big that I had to put replace my bedside table with a bookshelf. Hopefully I have learned to speed read by then.

Lee Ann, I commented on your "just placed my order" post last night and now just saw that you got your box and was thinking WOW that was fast! Looking at the dates though, I guess I was just a bit slow. Oh well ..

Yay for a box of books! :D

 I didn't think you were slow! It just takes a while to read through all the posts on here... This is such a wonderful board to come to for help or to share our homeschooling joys and frustrations.
Thanks.

We started CTC last week. I am loving it as is my son. I love our bible study and geography! I am learning alot. However I miss not reading the history books too. But it is nice that he is sooooo independent. This is the beauty of HOD as the kids get older. It gives me the time to work with my other kids. But I do have on my to do list to read all the books he is doing independently. The books Carries picks are very good and who can pass up a good book
