Bigger copywork?

From the description is sounds like you are supposed to choose either the Poetry copywork, or one of the cursive books? I ordered Cheerful Cursive for my son to use, but I was wondering if he should also do the poetry copywork. I really do not want to over burden him, but I also do not want to stop copywork for him yet. Does anyone else do both?

When we began Bigger, we only did the cursive workbook. There is quite a bit of writing in Bigger, and my son wasn't crazy about it  or quick at doing it. Your son will be doing copywork in the form of copying Bible verses for the notebooking assignments, copying Bible verses memorized, copying definitions from the dictionary for vocabulary work, copying paragraphs from history or science books for notebooking assignments. So, he will still be copying even if you opt not to do the poetry copywork. :D

We added in the poetry copywork about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way through Bigger. It was when I realized that he didn't have to copy the WHOLE poem during the week for it to still be beneficial.  For some reason, I was thinking "all or nothing" about it. So, we added in a couple lines a day and then I let him have one of the days to illustrate it.

So, you can alter it as you go to fit your family.

We're currently doing Bigger, and we do the same thing we did in Beyond: he does his handwriting book, and then copies a line or two of the poem per day. We use the last day to illustrate it as well.
