I've been going back and forth between Little Hearts and Beyond for my 5.5 yo son for the fall. He'll be ready for it in LA and math, but we haven't done history or science. Other than the basics, we've just been adding in Leading Little Ones to God. I appreciate all the great advice I rec'd earlier in the week and have been taking it to heart. I don't want to push him before he's ready for the meatier science and history readings, but I didn't want to get too far away from being on schedule with LA and math.

So, while I was doing some chores this morning it came to me--why not get Little Hearts for right now so we get used to the history and science readings, and work on that throughout the summer and into the fall, with the plan being to go into Beyond after Christmas. I have to supplement the math, because he will be ready for Singapore 1A/1B in the fall if we continue as we're going. What I thought I could do is use the small motor skills stuff from the K Little Hearts supplemented with the 1st grade thinking skills, plus math drill/practice so we'll be ready for/put off Singapore 1A/B in/until December/January. If I feel like he's ready to move into Beyond before Christmas, I can do that. This way I'm getting the best of both worlds. I really didn't want to miss out on the Little Hearts stuff. I especially like the looks of the 101 Bible Stories--I checked out the inside--artwork, first couple of readings--at amazon.com, and it is gorgeous!
I'm placing a huge order in a few minutes--can it be here yesterday?
