DITHOR question....

Post by Patti » Sat Apr 12, 2008 1:28 pm

Are the readings for DITHOR in addition to the readings in the package? I mean if I purchase Preparing for ds, will he read for history (the extension package), science, and then whatever genre in DITHOR? Or are some of the books in the package also used for DITHOR? Thanks so much.

Patti

Patti,

I think the books for DITHOR are separate. I am not using it yet...someone correct me if I am wrong! I believe the books in DITHOR are to be read aloud to you, while the read -alouds are read by you to the children...and the extension pack books are read independently by the student. :?

Patti,

Ooh! I LOVE InHisTiming's answer better! We were typing at the same time.

Yes, the readings for DITHR are in addition to the readings for history and science. DITHR is scheduled 3 days a week in "Preparing...", and the history and science readings are scheduled 4 days a week. Each reading is kept purposefully short Charlotte-Mason style to be read slowly over time. :D

You can use any books that fit your kiddos interest for DITHR.

Blessings,
Carrie

Now I get it, thank you for your answers. I am so anxious to see the samples of Preparing. Just as bad as my children at Christmas!
Thanks again!
Blessings,
Patti
