We traveled this weekend...without my husband......it is about 7 hrs away....we live in a small city...like about 20,000....so we hit Portland Oregon at rush hour....on Memorial Day weekend...stop and go....and our gas light went on! I have no idea how I am going to get off the freeway...or even where a gas station close by is ...as well as easy access to get back on the freeway to continue on our way...no easy task! I am not that familiar with the area either....so I say...Oh my...I am not sure how far we can go on a empty tank....(we have a Tahoe) and I am not sure which exit to even try to get off.....From the back seat ....Brooklyn says....John 14:1 *Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in me* That was her memory verse from a few weeks ago and I havent heard her recite it again...til we were stuck in traffic with an empty tank! It was so reassuring and I felt total calm! It was a great reminder that even when I do know if certain parts of our school day is *sticking* it is all in there!!! So once again...I am thanking God for HOD and all the valueable things my daughter is retaining!!!! Beth in Idaho

Beth - this is something many of us as adults are still trying to do! The ability to call upon a Scripture verse from memory that perfectly fits our time of need is such a skill to have - a timeless skill, really. May the Lord continue to turn your dd's heart to Him! She is a precious little one... Let the little ones come unto me... PTL!

Thanks so much for sharing this! It blessed my heart beyond measure. At HOD, our guides are very focused on learning and applying the word, but even more on reaching kiddos' hearts! What a wonderful way to see that the Word reached your daughter's head and her heart.
