1/2 Pace Question

When I was mapping out the guides for my girls Paige was going to public Kindy. Well she is not going anymore she is staying home with big sis Drew. :)

Here is my mapping schedule. I will need to 1/2 pace at least one of the earlier guides so that Paige does not get to PHFHG before 4th grade.

Little Hearts:Kindergarten
Beyond: 1st grade
Bigger- 2nd/3rd grade ?
Preparing:4th grade
CTC:5th grade
RtR: 6th Grade
RevtRev:7th
Modern Times-1900-Present: 8th
Geography Thru History: 9th
World History: 10th
American History up to 1900:11th
American History 1900-Present: 12th

If I knock LH, Beyond and Bigger to 4 days a week will that be slow enough of a pace so we can do 3 guides in 4 years? Or do I need to do One guide slower then that in addition to the 4 day schedule? How big of a skills jump is there from Beyond to Bigger?

Can you tell I am a planner? LOL.

Hi from another planner
Yes, if you do 4 days of LHFHG, Beyond & Bigger each week, it should take 3.5 36-week school years. So if you slow down to half-pace for a little while in any guide, or start Preparing slowly, your dd should be at your desired age/level for Preparing :D I haven't done Beyond or Bigger yet, but I have read through the guides, and one big difference that I notice is in the writing required. In Beyond it's spelling words, copywork, and copying sentences they've dictated. In Bigger, original sentences are required for science, vocabulary, grammar, as well as copying for weekly notebooking. Others who have done them will surely chime in :D

I agree that if you do LHFHG, Beyond, and Bigger 4 days a week, this will add about 105 extra days. :D I would probably consider doing Bigger Hearts half-speed for about 9 weeks (4 days a week) or so to spread those 3 guides out over 4 years. However, I say all of this tongue in cheek, as I had a plan all figured out that went a bit awry as I adjusted some pacing in response to dc's needs. So, this looks like it's a perfect fit, but just know that if you need to adjust something (going half-speed longer, switching to full-speed sooner, health issues, moving, etc.), HOD is super flexible, and that new plan will probably work too. HTH! :D :D :D
