A question about Bigger Ext. and DITHOR

Post by davisfam7 » Tue May 10, 2011 12:40 pm

I have a question about using the Bigger Extension package for DITHOR for my 10 yo son? Could I do this or do I need to buy the DITHOR book pack for level 4/5?
I know someone has probably already asked this, but I am wanting to start Bigger with my 10 yo and 8yo boys next week, so i am trying to order any last minute items we might need. Thanks for your help, all of you ladies have been a great help and encouragement to me as we start our HOD journey! My boys have been peeking at the books and pushing to start, I had to hide them so they didn't start to read them yet  !! That, in itself, speaks volumes to me!!

I'm so glad your boys are peeking at the books and raring to start - hooray! :D As far as your question, you'll need books for DITHOR, as that will be the boys' reading instruction. You can either use your own books or DITHOR's Book Packs, whichever you prefer. I will say we have loved HOD's books choices and have been glad for the convenience of having the book packs on hand. However, if you'd enjoy choosing your own books or need to economize, you can easily pick the books you would enjoy. :D The extensions for "Bigger Hearts" are for 10 - 11 yo dc. If you are thinking that "Bigger Hearts" along with "DITHOR" will be meaty enough for your 10 yo, then I would not add the extensions. However, if you are wanting to beef it up for your 10 yo, then you would choose to add the extensions. I think it is very important dc give their all to the daily plans in Bigger Hearts, including DITHOR, so they are prepared for PHFHG. So if doing the extensions would mean some of the daily plans wouldn't get done, or wouldn't get done as well, then I'd wait on them. HTH! :D
