Bigger question

Hello ladies! Hope that everyone had a lovely Mother's Day. My question is about Bigger Hearts which I will be using with 8 and 9 year old dds. If you had to choose between doing DITHOR and doing the Extensions which would you recommend? FWIW, if I do not do DITHOR this year I'll be having my dds work through the extra ER titles listed in the Beyond guide and preparing questions to go along with them. DD9 is an average reader but she tires easily. DD8 is above average in reading and can read for loooong periods of time. DD9 has excellent comprehension and DD8 has average comprehension. DD8 comprehends much better when she reads to herself while dd9 comprehends better when I read aloud to her. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Any ideas?

I dont know about the extensions because we aren't there... but in regards to doing DITHOR or the other ERs... I'd DEFINITELY pick DITHOR. Jayden is having a blast with DITHOR and it's really helped her out a ton.

I would do DITHR because that is what will really advance their reading comprehension and give them the character and literature study. The extensions will just extend the history and science which given their ages, they probably don't really need.

I would pick DITHR over the extensions too. There is plenty of history in Bigger for your kids ages, and the reading program is more important.

DITHOR is more important to do than the extensions, as it provides dc's reading instruction.

If reading both DITHOR books and the extension books would be too much for a child, that is an indicator that the extensions are not needed. HTH - enjoy DITHOR - it is a great way to teach reading skills!
