New and DITHOR ??

Post by sevenbabies » Wed Apr 27, 2011 10:32 am

We will be starting Bigger next year but I'm considering starting DITHOR now. My 7yo first grader reads fairly well (Junie B, Hank the Cowdog, Magic Treehouse). I feel like she would place in about the middle of the emerging readers. Is there any reason she can't start there or will she miss something valuable by not reading them all? I feel like Wagon Wheels would be about the right spot.

Emerging Readers comes before DITHOR.... But if you feel that your DD should start in the middle of the ERs then that's fine. :) You want to almost start out easy for them, so that it doesn't become a chore, so if you think wagon wheels is right at her level, then I'd start at the one before it to give her a chance to get used to it. After she finishes the emerging readers THEN you'd get DITHOR and start it :)
