Primary Math Textbook - Is it necessary?

DD is beginning Primary Math 1. Last week when we wanted to begin, I thought something didn't seem right. I realized early this week that I only had the textbooks and not the workbooks. I ordered the workbooks and received them the other day. After having dd do some of the work, I looked ahead to some of the activities in the book. With Carrie's activities and the workbook pages, is it necessary to have the textbook? I have them, but do I really need to use them? I'm just curious about that, because from what I looked at, it seems like it won't get used. If so, is this typical for later ones? How much are the textbooks used?

I found my answer on an older post. I guess I don't need textbooks until PM3.

You only need the
workbooks for Singapore Primary Math 1A & 1B if you are following the plans that Carrie has written for math in the Beyond guide. She has done a great job of writing fun, hands-on activities for the math lessons.
It's the same for Singapore 2A & 2B - workbooks only - Carrie has written plans in the Bigger guide.
Once your child gets to Singapore 3A&B you'll want to have the textbooks as well as the workbooks.

Thanks, Beth. Somehow I missed the workbooks and only bought the text. I don't remember from where I ordered them. Because the EB books were just one book, I thought it was the same for the others. If I would have looked at HOD closer, I would have realized it was a set. I do have the workbooks now. I now know this for PM2 when I need to get it.
