R&S English 2 Teacher's Manual

Post by Candice » Mon Apr 18, 2011 4:54 pm

For those who have used, or are using, R&S English 2, are you (or did you) use the teacher's manual that is available to go with it?
Just wondering if it is highly recommended or not.

Thank you!

Quoting from HOD's website, "The Teacher's Manual is not necessary at this level, unless you desire an answer key or feel unsure about your English skills." I did not use the manual with level 2, and it was fine. There are two reasons you do need a manual for level 3 and up: 1)As an answer key because the grammar skills taught become more complex, and 2)for the daily oral review questions that are found only in the Teacher's Manual for levels 3 and up. The manual for level 2 does not have daily oral review questions.

I do have the teacher's manual, while don't think it is entirely necassary, I do like having it. It gives some good questions and intro into each lesson that you wouldn't otherwise have. Sometimes I use the suggestions, other times I don't. Clear as mud? :D

We didn't use the R & S Teacher's Manual with Level 2, but we have for Level 3 on up. Starting with Level 3, oral review is included in every lesson, and it's only listed in the teacher's manual. Plus, it is just quite nice to have the answers as the skills increase in difficulty. HTH! :D

I got it for the purpose that 1) it was free :D and 2) I like to be able to read along side dd. So if I didn't have the TM, then I would have bought an extra copy of the textbook.
