I have homeschooled for 14 years and

I have never found anything that I love like HOD. And trust me I have almost tried it all.
I was pretty positive I wanted to teach my younger two the Charlotte Mason way. I had planned to purchase the Easy Packs from Queen but then I found HOD. I started LHFHG this year with my 5yo and I have never been happier.
I have been looking for something for years that was laid out for me. I spent so much time trying to piece it all together and lay it all out that mostly it didn't get done and we would wing it. My second two children's education suffered from this.
Most curriculum would say well every family does it differently so we let you decide.
HOD does not do that. It is there what I need to do. I can do all or some if I want but it is there for me. I LOVE THIS!!!
I am a busy mom of 5 three who are teens (one almost 20 and engaged) I am busy and I don't have time.
I love how HOD is more laid out and structured than the Easy Packs would have been. It is the best of both worlds to me. A Charlotte Mason Education with structure. I would never know where to begin structuring a CM education and trust me I bought all the books and seminars to show me how. LOL

Thank you Carrie so much for all your time and effort. You are truly a God send to me and my children.

Oh one more thing I do struggle with the hands on stuff but when my Beyond gets here I am going to spend time planning out all the hands on activities so every thing I need is ready and I can do them. I know my kids would love them.

So thanks again for EVERYTHING you do for us. Tell your family thanks for sharing you with us.

I agree, Kim. So nice to have it all there ready to go each morning. I pieced it together for years with my oldest and so often (read almost always) fell short.

I actually caught myself boasting on Sunday and had to apologize to the other moms. They were saying they needed to get home to get their week's planning done. Carrie had already done mine for me. :D

Another very-long-time homeschooler here...very happy with using HOD for the first time this year! Wish I had been able to use it for some of my olders, but trust that God will use what I did/am doing with them for His glory and His purposes.

Kim, I couldn't agree more. I have only homeschooled a few years, but in that time I feel like I tried everything to some degree. I couldn't make piecing it all together work either. It seemed that I was always trying to plan, and those plans never were what I wanted or thought they should be. I too have a large crew with a large age range. Like you, my oldest is almost 20 and three of them are teens. Then, there's the 10 yr old and an almost 4 yr. old. HOD helps our school days flow so smoothly... and I see my children learning and growing in Christ!

Tracee I pray I can too. By the time my little ones get to high school hopefully Carrie will be done with the guides for that level.
I praise God for sending me to HOD. My neighbor bought it and showed hers to me and I was sold. So I bought. I am so thankful for that.

Also completely agree. :D I think you will be surprised at how easy the hands on stuff is in HOD. I found pretty much from Bigger on my kids are able to be completely independent just needing a little help here and there from me. I was so horrible with follow through with that kind of stuff before HOD. I am sort of on or off but with HOD it always gets done. :D I think you will find the same.

Just looking back I see you are on Beyond. Those projects are very easy. You might even find your kids will be sort of able to do a lot of that on their own as well. My two little ones did the preparation and then I watched. For the most part that truly is how it went. I applauded and all that but they did the work for the most part and it went well. :D

I just wanted to say I echo the moms who said they pray to do HOD all the way through. I know God called me to the brick-and-mortar school this year, but otherwise, DD would be doing LHTH to start out with. I'm grateful DS will know nothing different! :)

Thank you, Carrie and family!!! And thank you to Julie and all the other fantastic HSing moms on this board! Y'all are Godsends to us newbies!!!

Ladies,

Wow! I am so humbled by this thread! :D We pray daily for the Lord to lead those to HOD who may be blessed by what we have to offer, and He is always faithful. :D

Thank you for your words of encouragement as they filled my cup tonight. :D I'm busily writing every day now, from the minute we finish school until we head to bed and also all weekend long. So, I am blessed by your words as they encourage our family to follow the Lord's call even though it is not always easy. :D Each of you is following the Lord's call on your life to homeschool, and I'm so glad we can walk this road together and uplift and encourage one another! :D

Blessings,
Carrie
