Seeing the next guide is serving as a motivator

I was able to buy RTR at the convention this weekend. My ds spent time looking over all the projects for next year and boy is he excited. This morning he was getting ready to do his project for history and it requires making dough. In the past he has needed my help with this due to his Cerebral Palsy and his shaking hands. He just doesn't have much confidence that he can do it. Well today he says "Mom I am going to do this all by myself, next year there are a lot of projects that require cooking, so I better start practicing." He then gathered everything up and did it completely by himself. I was so proud of him. For him this is a big deal.
It is also serving as a motivator for me. This time of year I start to get a little tired and worn out. I started reading Peril and Peace that he will read next year and all I can say is Wow! I love that he is going to learn about Church history. This book is written in such a way that I know he will love it. I am going to have my dh read it this summer also because neither one of us has ever learned about the history of the church. Just this little glimpse of next year has me energized again. I just love everything about HOD.
