Hi Ladies! I have been on here asking a million questions, and thought I should really introduce myself. :D This fall will be my first year of homeschooling.... very exciting! :D

I have been married to my husband for 7 years this summer and we have three children... 5, 4 and 2 1/2. While I am a stay at home mom, my husband is an estimator for a local insulation company. When I am not looking a curriculum, I love to cook and try new recipes, decorate, and go on fun outings with my family. :D

I first came upon Heart of Dakota, when I was looking on a website for curriculum reviews. There wasn't a review on HOD, but someone on there was comparing another curriculum with HOD. So, I thought, "I am going to look up and see if I can find out what this HOD is all about!" I Googled HOD and began my quest for yet another curriculum to look at!
I guess I should go back and say that I was unsure about homeschooling in general-- sure that I wanted to do it, but unsure about trying to get it "all" done and with a 2 year old to deal with. :)

Anywho, I began looking at HOD and it was like a light came on for me! :D I know that God directed me to this! I don't even have the curriculum yet, (going to be purchasing soon, though. ) This is what I had been looking for.... a Christian perspective and Biblically based; simple, yet thorough lessons; many areas of learning; CM method, etc. The biggest thing for me, was also that it doesn't have overwhelming teachers manuals to mess with and it's all laid out simply for me to follow! :D I think it's really going to give me a peace that I can homeschool my children and in a way that leads to less frustration, not only for the kids, but for me as a mom who has so many other things like housework, meal planning, etc.

I am so excited to start on this journey! All you ladies are great and very helpful! Carrie has been so awesome too! I was surprised, when she emailed me personally back! Now that's customer service!

This fall, I plan to use LHTH with my ds ( will be just turned) 3 year old. I plan to take it a half of page a day and stretch it for 2 years. Also, I will be using LHFHG with one of my dd who will be 6 in Dec. and my other dd who will be 5 in January-- and take it at her pace.

Sorry for long drawn out message, but I just thought I should introduce myself, especially since, you all will probably see me on this forum for years to come!!

(Do you live near Candice or Gina?? That would be so cool to live near someone else who uses HOD!)

Hi LeAnna! You have such a lovely family! I believe God leads us to what we need when we are in His will, and your being led here was certainly evidence of that. You are going to be a great homeschool mom - I can already tell! I'm also glad you'll be here for the long-term, me too! It will be great continuing to get know each other here. Thanks so much for the beautiful pictures and the introduction!

In Christ,
Julie
