Question about mixing classic interest and boys interst book
Question about mixing classic interest and boys interst book
I have so many of the books in the emerging readers set and several in the boys interest pack of beyond so I am ordering individually.
My question is there are a couple on the classic interest that I would like to have that fit perfectly into the category of two in the boys interest that I don't care if I have or not. So would this be ok to do?
I think it is the mystery and non fiction category so I would be getting those from the classic interest and the rest from the boys interest minus the mystery and non fiction categories.
I hope this is making sense.

Re: Question about mixing classic interest and boys interst book
I think that it is fine to mix up boy/girl/classic as long as you have one book for each genre. I plan to do this because within the girl interest set there are a couple of books that we have already read, prior to starting HOD, so rather than read them again we will fill in with some from the classic set. Is that what you were asking?

I am mixing up books too. I have some from the classic list and some from the boy list. I am doing it mostly for myself. I read all of the boy interest ones with my 1st son, so I am going to do most of them again with a few of the classic ones thrown in.

Yes that was my question. I felt like I didn't make it clear. Sorry I have a sick little one so my brain function is on half power or maybe more like a fourth. LOL

I'm mixing too. I have a mix of boys and classics and one girl. It's what he picked when we looked through the descriptions. I think picking the books that will interest a child is what's important, not what list they come from.

We mix here too!
The books all are so great that even though some might be more interesting to a boy/girl, they are just plain good books! I know my son loves hearing the Little House books just as much as my dd. I think that is part of what makes Carrie's book choices so great!
I'm fairly certain I remember a post where Julie mentions that her boys read all 3 packages, boy/girl/classic as well just because of the great books.

The more book choices from HOD I read, the more I love the choices. Mix away. You can't go wrong.
