I would like to know what you do/where you go to get framing/matting done for the painting peices done in CtC. I really want to make a gallery in our house!! I know there are ways to mat it yourself, I've just never done this before. I know I could go to Hobby Lobby and they could probably help. I just wanted to know what you all did to display these master works of art!!!!
It's been such a wonderful memory that my daughter and I have made together!!!
Receiving His new mercies again today,
Liz

You could have them done professionally, but that can get expensive. Art supply stores like AC Moore and Michael's have pre-matted picture frames or you can buy mats that match the artwork, frames, and glass separately. I've done both, and it works great!

Liz - what a fantastic idea!

I think this would be such a lovely celebration of all the art lessons that dc tried their hand at in CTC. An art gallery within your own home with your own little artists' work displayed - genius. I am going to have to remember this with my next dc when they do CTC.
In Christ,
Julie

We just went to Hobby Lobby today, and I found an art portfolio that had room for 24 paintings in it (kinda like a big binder with page protectors). It was $16.99, but fits the purpose really well. (We just have to decide which paintings to put behind some others, since it only displays 24--otherwise, if cost isn't an issue, you could just get two!)

Liz- Heather, what a great idea! Will you please post pictures of your displays once you have them? This is for the visual ones of us who are still far away from CTC

I don't have any pictures of our portfolio yet, but this is the one we got:
http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/art ... po-570341/
It's like a durable plastic binder-type cover with page protector sheets inside.
They have a lot to choose from at Hobby Lobby here:

I hope it's ok to post these links for the art portfolios for displaying our watercolor paintings from CTC. If not, please just delete (and sorry!)
