A Praise

Post by tnahid » Tue Mar 29, 2011 10:31 pm

Just wanted to post a praise about how much both of my sons love to READ now! I am so amazed at this! They are both avid readers now, and I really feel like HOD has been a big part of that for us! Even my 4-year old loves books now, even more than she did! She is constantly wanting to pretend to read or have someone read to her. I have always loved to read myself, and I guess I am just so excited to see my children also learn to love reading as well. Both of my sons have really enjoyed their DITHOR books. My oldest did 2/3 level this year, and my youngest was in Emergent Readers, but they have really enjoyed it. My oldest finished his DITHOR books already and has already asked me if he can do the next level up for next year. He isn't as crazy about the DITHOR workbook, but that's just him. He isn't crazy about writing things down and analyzing them, but he can narrate stuff to me ALL DAY LONG! LOL :D I guess that is good, right?

I think dictation will really be beneficial for him next year. I have never done that before, so I look forward to trying that. They both like doing copywork though. Anyway, I just really wanted to give a praise to my Father for this. I believe when children love to read, the sky is the limit for them! And this is one of the reasons I really am thankful for HOD and DITHOR. Blessings!

That is wonderful! I'm praising the Lord and celebrating with you. I know that feeling of finally seeing your dc love to read. I'm an avid reader too so I really wanted my children to love to read. It seemed a long time coming, but my dd caught the bug I think sometime towards the end of the Emerging Readers and my ds caught it this year in DITHR. It's wonderful to see them enjoying reading and wanting to pick up a book in their spare time. :D

Rejoicing with you! My son loves to read too. It warms my heart to walk past his room in the evening and see him snuggled up in bed with books all around him on the covers. I love it!
