Second-guessing

Post by blessedmomof4 » Thu Mar 17, 2011 2:18 pm

I have yet to order the new books we need, and I will be needing the next thing in 4 weeks :!: I looked at the new placement chart with fresh eyes. Now that we are into a "groove" of things, my younger girl still fits mostly in CTC, but the older one truly fits in RTR...I was going to combine them in CTC as is, but now I'm not so sure...CTC with Extensions for the older? Or split them into CTC and RTR as is? Opinions?

I am trying to remember all the past threads and I'm afraid my memory isn't what it used to be. :( Am I remembering correctly that she has struggled somewhat this year with an online school and this will be her first time with HOD? I'm thinking it might be nice to go on the lighter, easier side for her if this is the case to help her adjust to the new way of doing things and help her regain a love of learning. Do you think it would be beneficial to have your 2 dds together for some things? Would that be a good thing for their relationship or would it cause strife and competition? Those are some of the things I would try to consider when making a decision. I don't know if that helps, but that is a couple of thoughts I had. :D

Yes, you remember correctly :) It's just so easy to want to do more, more, more :D I will have to be patient for the newer programs...what you said makes perfect sense, Patty. I think the girls work fine together, and it would be easy enough to alternate the Independent boxes for them. What I will do is buy the CTC as is like I originally planned, and if it is not enough for my older, add the Extensions later.

Sounds like a good plan. :)

If this is her first time with HOD then I would also recommend leaving her in CtC. I chose to do Preparing for this reason. I know he could have handled CtC but I wanted a more gentle introduction back into HOD. Unless there have been major jumps in ability then I would say your initial gut feeling was probably the Lord's leading.

Hope that helps!
