Art & art appreciation through the years with HOD

Ladies,
I am curious if there is a thread somewhere that may summarize HOD's overall approach to art and art appreciation. There is a lot of drawing and painting throughout the years with HOD which led me to wonder if there is a purposeful progression of skills built in.
Carrie so often summarizes these things so well that I'd love to read something she has written if possible. I didn't see anything in the (awesome) Reasons Behind HOD's Choices thread.
