Having a great time with LHFHG-encouragemtent for newbies!

I began Little Hearts with my 5year old son about one week ago. I was watchful of him as we began, and ready to put the program aside for awhile and wait until he's older if needed. I haven't had to do that at all! It has been a great experience!
I was so worried about it being too much given his age and that this is the first formal instruction I have given him (writing numbers, letters, etc.). Everything I have done with him up to this point has just been for fun, but fun is the greatest teacher in the preschool years (that is my philosophy, anyway!)
All of that having been said, I smile when I hear myself call Little Hearts "formal" instruction! The child is definitely learning a lot, but it is just so natural! It is learning that is fun and not "forced". What is so exciting is that he is pairing up the term "school" with his experience in Little Hearts and he is just all smiles at that word......SCHOOL.
So, for those of you who are reluctant to start "school" like I was, give it a try if the child is old enough! I am so so glad that I did!! Little Hearts is just enough without being too much!
Also, I have been so busy lately that I haven't had time to get on the board and join in all of the rejoicing about the new guide, and that fact that Carrie is going to write for high school!!! HOORAY!!!!!
Have a great rest of the week!
