OT - Praise and Prayer Request

I know this is off topic but I am overflowing with joy at what our Lord has done and need to share with others who will understand! I have talked on here before about my son who we adopted domestically at birth. In the agency that we worked with, the birthparents would look at profiles of adoptive families and then choose the family for their child. Samuel's birthparents chose us and we were able to meet them at the hospital when he was born. It was a very comfortable meeting for all of us considering the circumstances and there were so many things that had God's fingerprints all over them. At the time we had told his birthparents that we would love to stay in contact with them if they wanted us to. They felt that it would be too hard and asked that we only send them an update and a few pictures a couple times a year. We agreed, but for the last 6 years I have been praying that someday they would feel at peace enough to build a relationship with us. I just feel that it would be great for Samuel to know them and to have the ability to ask them questions if he needs or wants to. A couple of weeks ago, his birthfather sent me a friend request on facebook completely out of the blue! Earlier this week I got one from his birthmother! Since that time they have sent us several emails, pictures of Samuel's other siblings, and God has just blown my socks off at how natural it has all seemed. Would you ladies lift us up in prayer as we navigate this new area of our relationship and that we will be open to what God wants to do through us? Neither of them are Christians so we would love to be able to minister to them through this as well.

Stephanie,

How amazing! It is so evident that God is using you all in a great way. Your attitude towards his birthparents is so filled with the love of Christ!

I will keep you all in my prayers, most certainly.

Keep us posted! God bless you!

By the way, I checked out your blog...Cherish each moment....what a great blog! So great to see what you all are up to! Your son's birthday is just a few days from my son's birthday. Our son turned 5 on March 6! Sorry off the topic a little. Really, really cool blog!

Stephanie, That is great that you are establishing a relationship with birth mom and dad. Such a great ministry! :D I don't know if our adopted dd will ever meet her birth parents, but she has some half siblings that I want to establish contact with eventually. I can say, it is such a blessing when we can lead someone like that to the Lord. I had posted that our foster baby's mother accepted the Lord. It is very exciting! :D I will pray that you will be able to experience that with the birth parents. :D
God bless!
