Kildee House

Post by daybreaking » Sat Mar 12, 2011 11:25 am

We recently started reading Kildee House, for the Fantasy genre. All was going well until Mama raccoon was killed. My tender, sensitive boy was devastated and doesn't want to read the book anymore. (I think he gets that from me. To this day I can't read Stone Fox without tears streaming down my face. Even though it's a good book, I know for sure I'll need to wait on that one with my son.) Can anyone tell me how the rest of Kildee House plays out? Was this the only difficult part, or do any more animals get hurt? If the rest is tame and the ending is happy, I'd like to continue, but I wanted to know ahead of time, before encouraging my son that all will end well. Thank you! :)

We just finished Kildee House. There is one instance where a mountain lion kills a dear. This is not a "pet" like the mama raccoon was. It is generally a fun book with a good ending.

I haven't read it yet, but just wanted to say that the ending of Stone Fox really upset my son too! He is not the sensitive type, but he said, "I didn't like that book because of the way the dog died at the end! I didn't know that was going to happen!"  :D So, I understand!
