Being faithful...even with the garbage cans!

Just wanted to share this with you as it encouraged my heart to continue to be faithful in what God's called me to do in this season of my life...homeschool!

My ds's memory verse this past week (Beyond ~ Unit 15) was Matthew 25:21 "His master replied, 'Well done good and faithful servant you have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things; come & share your master's happiness."

He memorized it and we talked about it each day following the plans in the guide. One day, we talked about being "faithful" with the small things (jobs, responsibilities) we have to do so that we can be trusted with larger things (jobs, responsibilities). Yesterday, I asked him to take our empty garbage cans from the curb to the side of the garage after the trash truck came by. He was silent for a second, then told me (in a good attitude) that he didn't really feel like it, but that he would do it because he wants to be faithful. (W  W!!!! ) I thanked him and he took care of this responsibility immediately.

The Bible provides the best training for boys to become men, doesn't it?!? :D You've got him thinking. Those talks are priceless. I have depended upon the talks in HOD to help me minister to my sons' minds AND hearts. A huge benefit of using HOD! I'm glad you are seeing the fruit of it. :)

In Christ,
Julie

Don't you love it when your kids make connections like that and are able to take what they are learning and actually apply it?!? It shows that he is really internalizing what he has learned. Awesome!
