I am so glad I decided to go ahead with Little Hearts!

Some of you may remember that a little while back I posted about my 5yo. son being "stuck" between the two worlds of LHTH and LHFHG. He really has outgrown LHTH. He is my first child to homeschool from the beginning, so I have not had a lot of confidence on gauging his readiness for "formal" instruction.

I went right ahead and decided to try Little Hearts and it has been WONDERFUL! He is more than ready!! I think I have just been so apprehensive about giving him any formal instruction that that really clouded my judgement as to his readiness. He adores Little Hearts, and he is doing great with every box. He loves math and his science book. He also loves History for Little Pilgrims, which was the book I was not sure about. I am going to begin reading instruction in a week or two.

One great benefit about starting Little Hearts is that it has given he and I more guided time together each day. I've needed that direction as to spending more "sit down" time with him each day.

He is more than ready for Little Hearts, and I am so happy that I decided to give it a try!!! I underestimated my son! :)

I love reading that you have found such joy in your choice. That is refreshing to hear. I hope my next year turns out as well as yours! Sounds like your guided time together is just what you needed ... I'm right there too. Eager to get started in the fall.

Thanks for sharing Liz! I'm holding off starting my kids in their HOD programs just yet (other than Little Hands) but quite honestly my resolve is weakening! They are asking and the books/guides are calling . . . :D

Wonderful! Little Hearts was a wonderful time with my son and I last year. We had so much fun, he would have to stop his "school day" about 1 or 2x to give me a loving hug! There was nothing better than spending that time with Thorton Burgess, he almost cried and his eyes watered up when he found out we were on the last book in May and Beyond did not have Thorton Burgess! But we have loved this year as well. Still have to stop and get those hugs! He just gets overwhelmed with love and has to hug! Blessings on your homeschool journey!

I'm glad Little Hearts is working well for you! We have been using it this year and absolutely love it. I will be sad in a few months when we are finished with it, but I also can't wait to dig into Beyond!

I can't wait to start. This is my first year with HOD and I can't wait to start. I have to finish up what we are using right now, but the kids are so anxious to get their hands on the books that just came in the mail. We will be using little hearts with our 5 and 7 year old. Thanks for sharing your excitement and journey.
