waiting for SP Math books

Hi everyone,
My ds has finished his 1A Singapore Math books and his 1B books are on backorder from our local supplier here in Australia, which means it may take up to a month to get it from the USA. We love maths and want to continue doing it every day with Beyond. Has anyone got any suggestions as to what we could do in the meantime to maintain momentum in maths? I am fine with using some worksheets but have not found a good website which provides something fun and not too repetitive. Thanks.

Corrie

For a couple dollars, you could get an instant download (no shipping or waiting!!) of a topical math worktext from Math Mammoth. The teaching method is super similar to SM so wouldn't be steering you off course and would be easy to use to fill that time gap at a good price. There are full grade downloads, but there are some by topic only-- just take note when viewing the site since it's "blue series" and "light blue series" to avoid confusion. :)

There are quite a few online resources for math worksheets. You could do a google search for the topic for which you are interested and come up with many resources I'm sure. In the meantime you could continue working on the hands on activities in Beyond. I have found with Singapore that it seems the "A" version in each year is really the one that covers the more difficult concepts. The "B" part of the year does cover more concepts but they tend to be things more like measurement and geometry with which my dc already seem familiar. You could look at the Singapore website to see what is covered upcoming if you wish and start work on those subjects. I would probably take the time to review some of the concepts that you have covered thus far as well perhaps revisiting some of the hands on activities that you have done. :D
