We finished up Preparing at Christmas and since then I have had my daughter reading historical fiction regarding colonial America. I really want to move on to another HOD but am unsure which one. Do I move on to Creation to Christ? I just now was reading about the new one coming out and it sounds great too! Just wondering about any input on this.... Thanks
Paula

Hi,
Each guide builds skills incrementally from the one that precedes it, so yes, since your daughter has finished Preparing, you would put her in Creation to Christ next.

Not sure how old your dd is, but yes each guide builds on skills in the previous guide so you really don't want to skip a guide. We did Preparing last year and CTC this year and there is a pretty big jump in how much they are expected to do independently and the independent reading is much more challenging in CTC. CTC also works on the student improving their written narration skills. They are expected to write longer narrations and at about 2/3 of the way through my ds is now expected to write a written narration without having the questions to go by.

Welcome to the HOD Board!

Each guide does build upon the last one in skills, so it is actually an excellent idea to move on to "Creation to Christ"! My ds just soared with CTC - what a growing year that was for him! Have you gotten a chance to look at the CTC Photobook to see what your dd will get to be doing in CTC? That may be fun - here's the link:
