Can My DITHOR and Rd Aloud be the same?

I have 4 young kids and one of them has an intensive therapy schedule that keeps us out of the home a lot. I have to keep my homeschool schedule as simplified as possible.
To that end, can we use the same book we are using for our Rd Aloud for DITHOR, or are the DITHOR books supposed to be read independently?
Thanks!

DITHOR is the child's reading lesson. They read the DITHOR book. You read the Story time book aloud to them. I would not suggest reading the same one. I think one part of the point of Story Time is to introduce them to books/language above their reading level, while DITHOR is supposed to be at their reading level or maybe SLIGHTLY above (to encourage growth).

Agreeing with pp here - by using the same book for both, a child would not be learning the same reading comprehension skills as they would be if they read it on their own. I can so relate to the time therapy takes though. So a few ideas...
*read the Storytime book at night as a read aloud
*just do 1 Storytime with your dc, instead of both LHFHG's and BHFHG's
*as Bigger Heart's Storytime is genre based, get an audio of a book you can listen to on the way to appointments
*alternate doing Storytime and doing DITHOR every other day
*if you absolutely must choose between Storytime or DITHOR, choose DITHOR
HTH!

Julie
