C-C-Crying!

Post by KristinBeth » Thu Feb 17, 2011 9:22 am

I just wanted to share a funny. We are doing LHTH with my 4 yo and 2 yo daughters right now. Both love the devotional Big Thoughts For Little People (we have the older version). Both girls spend a lot of time looking for ladybugs, looking for things in the picture that start with the designated alphabet letter (in fact, I often can't find the book because someone has been "reading" it in another room and stowed it somewhere). They also love the rhymes and "get" the message. :D

Anyway, when my 4 yo is having a meltdown over something trivial, I'll say, "Are you crying? I think you need to get the book". She'll immediately start laughing and run to get the book. We'll open to the C page and say together "C-C-Crying, it hurts when you fall. But please do not cry about nothing at all". Then she'll say "Why was I crying about nothing at all?" and for some reason ends up laughing until she gets the hiccups.

That is so precious! :D We didn't do LHTH. I can see we missed out on some wonderful moments.

I love this idea! :D You know what else is pretty neat? Your dc obviously have a great sense of humor, and you have found the ability to use that to change the tide in attitude. Smart dc - smart mom! :D
