We got our boxes yesterday, Happy Valentines Day to me! ;) Lucy begged me to let her start, so we did. I have to say the manual (LHFHG) is really open and go, I proved it quite literally. I was surprised because other teachers manuals I've used took quite a bit of time reading through them and trying to understand which things to do when, etc. I did read to the girls from the wrong book  for Day 1, we read History Stories for Children instead of History Stories for Little Pilgrims, about Christmas? lol Today (day 2) I realized what I had done. I had been wondering why we were reading about Christmas, it didn't seem to line up right. For about 5 minutes of prep I thought I didn't do too badly though. ;) The girls are loving the memory verse CD (I've heard it 100 times, but Lucy can already tell me the verse perfectly). They also look at me funny when we do the rhyme, like they are surprised I'm being so silly with them, but they love it. I'm looking forward to having fun with this. :) Thanks for letting me share!

LOL about reading out of the wrong book! Several times I have gotten out the wrong book to read in Bigger this year and realize when I'm looking at it that the pages or something else doesn't match. I wonder what your dds thought about Christmas on Valentine's Day? :D It sounds like you are all having a lot of fun already. That is so wonderful! :D :D :D

just thought i would reply quickly. I have tried to do CM for several years and i finally gave in and let "someone else" plan it for me- It is SOOOOOO much better. It does include almost everything i want. I have thought about including composer and more art but i have even decided about that--those are covered more in depth in the upper guides. So i am just enjoying the program as written. What a relief for me!. As for your high schooler, i am sure you can add to it and make it worthy of credits. Howeverk, i have found that using thwo guides for my kids has worked much better. It's not that much work and i get along time with each of them.
good luck with your decision

Christy,

I just wanted to celebrate your Box Day too! :D My boys love packing orders and getting them out to our customers, so I'm glad you have yours in hand already! How fun that you were able to jump in and start right away. :D

We pray that LHFHG may be a blessing to your family. :D We'll be doing LHFHG next year with my fourth little guy and are looking forward to it too. :D

Blessings,
Carrie

What a good start! Yes, that does prove HOD is truly open and go. I have done the same thing before, realizing we were just dying to start, and mom would have to just figure it out. It works with HOD! Thanks for letting us share in your joy! :D

In Christ,
Julie
