CTC and Egypt

Post by Heather4Him » Fri Feb 04, 2011 1:59 pm

God's timing is always perfect, and Carrie's curriculum is wonderful!

Just as we are studying Ancient Egypt in CTC (and learning about Coptic Christians, Cairo, etc.), there is so much going on in Egypt right now, and it's constantly on the news. I am an avid Fox News watcher, and normally our 13yodd doesn't care too much about it (unless it's election time or related to our state or something), but lately it's been something we can discuss in relation to what she's learning in CTC, how it relates Biblically, historically, etc. to current events there.

Just wanted to thank the Lord for His perfect timing (as always), and Carrie for her incredible curriculum! :) HOD really does prepare our kids for life, and living in this world with a Biblical worldview that we can discuss intelligently and lovingly, as well as learning to pray for those people and to see how our studies really DO have something to do with life today. (For all those times kids ask, "Why do we have to learn about this??") ;)
Love in Christ,

I know what you mean. When we said our prayer for Egypt and the Egyptian people this week I felt how timely it was. I talked to Noah about what was going on over there before we prayed and I could tell he was touched by it because he felt like he knew so much more about Egypt now. I know for me the whole thing seems to be making more of an impact on me because of our study of Egypt. I actually know where the places are they are talking about.

We just finished studying Egypt in CTC...but we do not have cable and have not been keeping up with what is going on in Egypt. Perhaps I need to bring that to light with my ds11 so we can do some discussing.
