Loving DITHOR and Beyond English

My ds is finishing up his DITHOR project. He's making a faith, encouragement card. It's turning out beautifully and he's done everything so well and independently. I know the family he's planned it for will be blessed.

I did not start my dd on Beyond English at the beginning of the year. I felt like maybe she was a little too young, I guess. Well, I started her a couple weeks ago and we both love it. :D My plan is to do two lessons each week instead of one. That is if she's retaining and understanding everything just fine. One thing we're doing and really enjoying (although it isn't necessary) is we're using a composition book that has a blank area at the top. When it says to write a sentence or a question, she's then illustrating it at the top of the page. This is really getting her excited about writing sentences on her own as well. Love it!!

We just really love HOD in general. This is the first year in our homeschool journey where I'm still happy with what we're doing in the middle of the school year. God is good. :)

Edwena - God IS good! :D It sounds like your dd is taking off with her English, and that your ds is enjoying DITHOR very much! The DITHOR projects are always a hit here too. I'm so glad your ds is going to encourage someone with his card - looking outside of oneself to another's needs is one of my primary character goals for our dc. Your ds is on his way to displaying that depth of character already! :D

In Christ,
Julie

Edwena,

My son just completed his faith encouragement card this week too! :D It turned out so well. He made it a pop-out card for his Papa and included Romans 8:28 (which happens to be my dad's favorite verse). :D

I'm so glad that you are getting a chance to use and enjoy both DITHR and also Beyond's gentle grammar lessons. We have thoroughly enjoyed both with our own kiddos too. Thanks so much for taking time to share. Your post blessed me today! :D

Blessings,
Carrie
