When looking to combine Grades

Do you cater to the older? I will have a 4th grader next year and a second grader. My 2nd grader will do great in BIgger, but I"m concerned it might be too easy for my 4th grader. On the other hand, If i remember correctly bigger start cursive and I"m not sure she's there yet and she isn't a strong independent reader yet.
The thought of doing 4 guides this year is a bit daunting with a new baby due in July and a boy that iwll be 2 next fall.
So, any suggestions?

Chandi,
We typically wouldn't advise that you do 4 guides unless absolutely necessary and especially not if you're new to HOD. It's sounding like you have multiple kiddos, so some should be able to be combined depending on where they fall on the placement chart.

Here's a link to the chart:

When looking at the chart, first place your kiddos indidvidually on the first page mainly of the chart. Then, you'll be able to better see which kiddos may combine well and if so in which program(s). If you get a chance to pop back in and share the ages of your kiddos and where each one places on the first page of the chart, then we could advise you better.
At HOD, we find it is easier to teach to the younger child and beef up the program for an older child (sometimes by just adding the 3R's from the next guide in line). This may work for you, depending on the ages and stages of your kiddos.

We look forward to hearing back from you when you get a chance.
Blessings,
Carrie
