CTC notebooking challenge

Post by deltagal » Tue Jan 04, 2011 9:39 am

Hi all,

My 13 yo is having some difficulty in "fitting" the copywork into the boxes on the CTC notebooking pages. Although, he's not prone to neatness he is aware that it's getting to be a bit of a mess. What would you suggest that would help him keep the pages neat in the event he has more information than a box can hold?

Carrie gave me this idea at the beginning of this year. I cut a piece of paper that is the same width of the box, but is longer and then he writes on it and I glue it in the box and then the extra length we just fold up over. Gives kind of a lapbook look. Hopefully that makes sense.

Hi,
I am doing CTC and am having some trouble fitting my (cursive) writing into the Scripture boxes too! Just wondering if I am doing this correctly (or should I shrink my writing ) Maybe the boxes could've been made bigger? Maybe for future programs the boxes could be made bigger for the Scripture copywork.

We are doing RTR and we draw small / light pencil lines in each box. This has caused us to write smaller in the boxes. All of my girls can now fit in all their writing. So far this has worked for us. The line also help to make the finished product look very nice.

I like your idea Lynn! :D

We only occasionally have a problem with the scripture not fitting in the box. And, if there were 2 or 3 verses to copy and Grant has 1 or 2 done and the box is full, I just let him quit with that.
