The party's over...or is it?!

Two weeks of going with the flow of we do whatever we feel like just gets old for me - even to the kiddos, they just don't realize that's what it is! Last night the kids sort of mourned the end of their break and were not as excited as I was about today.
After today I'm not sure they were so sad after all! I was AMAZED at how everything fell into place for us today. I fully expected at least two weeks to adjust and get everyone on track but it was SO smooth. My oldest finally has the independence he was longing for last semester when we used a different curriculum. He loathed waiting on me during certain subjects while I tried to make things "work" for all three of them. Even though it was written to do that I simply didn't find it so easy to accomplish that. As much as I had wanted them all doing the same general topics together (history, bible) I think they got so much more out of school today doing things on their level. We are currently doing CTC, Beyond, and LHFHG with the hopes of bumping the midde one to Bigger soon. I thought I would give it a month to get the oldest going but we may not have to wait that long.
I am totally sold on proper placement in the guides being the key!!! Last year we tried HOD but I placed them too low and being new to homeschooling didn't even know how to adjust things to be able to make them work. Once we get Bigger I think they are each in a perfect spot and am so looking forward to a smooth year. It was such a blessing to know that all subjects were covered today...and by lunch! The oldest began at 7, the other two at 8, we had lunch at 12 and I plan to add DITHOR and a foreign language for after lunch soon to finish out our afternoons along with their sports and music practices. I think the party is just beginning! WOO HOO! Thanks HOD!
