Hi Playschool!
I'd get the RTR Economy Package without Shakespeare. That alone will cover all of the left side of the plans of the guide, with the exception of Storytime. So by ordering the RTR Economy Package without Shakespeare, from the left side, this would include Reading about History box, which covers these skills:
Day 1: oral narration
Day 2: Summarize biographical information about famous men and women from
the history reading within the corresponding Student Notebook.
Day 3: Locate the places around the world where famous people made their mark
on history. To gain a global perspective, locate these places on the map provided in
each unit of the Student Notebook. To bring the historical period to life, a full-color
portrait of the person is also included to be labeled.
Day 4: Write a written narration to reflect upon the history reading. The Student
Notebook provides a place for recording written narrations. Written narration tips
are provided in the Appendix of Resurrection to Reformation for help as needed.
It would also include the History Project box, the Research box, Geography box, Timeline, and Independent History box. All of these assignments will be done within the RTR Student Notebooking pages, which are beautiful.
From the right side of the plans, that package would also include Art Appreciation, Poetry Study, and Bible Quiet Time (without the music).
I am thinking you have DITHOR already from doing it last year, so you can easily get books from the library for that and use the Student Notebook again. Are you finishing out a grammar from last year? If so, that's covered, if not, you'd want to get the next level of grammar. Same with math - the next level or finish it out from last year.
For science, you could do Option 1, and just get the "Exploring Creation with Astronomy" book. That will get you through about 1/3 of the guide, and then you can order the other books as they come up, or just some of them. Of course, you can always do a different science as well.
For writing, you could begin without it. RTR along with R & S English has quite a bit of writing, and you may just not do that for a year. Or, you could assign dd to write something within the DITHOR genre you are studying, and just have her follow the genre overview pages. I hope something here helps! If it works to order things in halves or thirds or fourths, be sure to ask for the books that are need for whatever increment you want to start with.
In Christ,
Julie
