Just wanted to say that our first year back of homeschooling, after 2 years in Christian school, has been so enjoyable, due to the grace of the Lord and to the fact that He led me to HOD! We have been doing Beyond, and both of my sons have enjoyed it SO much. Their favorite things are History, the Story-Time read alouds, and Reading time. To hear my 9 year old say that reading is his favorite thing is a major change! They also really enjoy the Memory Verses and the songs on the Steve Green CD. They even enjoy the poems! Their interest in reading books from the library has sky-rocketed, and now they lay in their beds at night and read until I make them turn out their flashlight/reading lights. My 7 year old is reading like 4th grade level books, and he was in Kindergarten last year at the Christian school! Tonight, he even asked me if he could read the Cricket in Times Square to me tomorrow night! (This is one of the read-aloud books and it's about a 5th grade level) I love it!

My daughter love LHTH also. She loves the songs and acting out the Bible story, etc. She loves the CD that goes with it too. All my children like that one! It has really been a joy to use this curriculum. Thank you for helping to ease us back into homeschooling again with great ease on my part, and lots of and ease for my children as well. We also do R&S preschool workbooks, although I know it isn't necessary. She just enjoys doing some of that, so we add it in at various times during the day.

They are really retaining so much of this so well. Well, thank you again to the HOD staff. You have been a real blessing to us in this home.

This is wonderful to hear, Tina! :D There can be a transition time for dc when they are coming home to homeschool after they have done something different, but I do believe HOD makes it go pretty smoothly. Your post is going to be encouraging to many moms considering doing the same, or going through this transition right now. I am so happy for you that your dc are enjoying Beyond and LHTH! :D I had to laugh when you said your older boys love the LHTH music too. Our older sons do too! Last night, we were reading the Catherine Vos Bible at bedtime together, and my 2 older boys burst forth into song "Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego- oh -oh" and sang the chorus word for word. They even had some stuffed animals singing it (to entertain our toddler even further - oh what we do to get a coveted squealing laugh from Emmett! ). Anyway, I guess it just goes to prove words put to music can make memorizing much easier! :D Thanks for sharing here a- hooray for you and your sweeties! :D

In Christ,
Julie
