Dear Ladies,
About 2 yrs ago I began studing Homeschooling and after many hard months and prayer decided to jump in. My husband feared that I would not complete" the project" and had me create my own curriculum. This taught me what was need in our house and how hard it is to design a meaningful curriculum. After a great yr, but stressfull, I asked to buy our curriculum and asked for HOD. I had gotten the catolog and read the board daily. The catolog became my daily readingand the board my HSing "freinds" that I couldn't talk to as I had no computer that could write on the forum (I just got one and now can "talk"). My hubby was sold and my nonbelieving parents bought it as a gift as they loved the book choice.
I was and still amazed with what a wonderful curriculum this is. We do LHFHG with my dd5 Abbey and ds 61/2 Isaiah with ds2 Colin listening to so much. I cryied when I received my boxes and rejoice every day I take those books off the shelf. The kids play the songs hourly and act out the history at rest time. We do 4 days/ week thus allowing us time for feild trips. The ladies on this board have instructed on schooling and dicipline. So what I ment to say is thanks (as I cry). You have helped when me in secrete. I love HOD and rec it to all up here in washington state.
thank

s for many leaning times for me and my children,

Gazelle - I am rejoicing along with you, and I am so glad you are now able to be on this board as I know I'll love talking with you here! :D I am somewhat alone in homeschooling other than my sister here where I live, so this board is full of ladies I consider my dearest friends and closest confidants as well. Praise the Lord you have your HOD curriculum in hand now, and I am so happy for you that you are loving your HOD journey! I depend on this board for encouragement, and HOD for structure and an excellent homeschooling plan too. I look forward to getting to know you here! :D :D :D

In Christ,
Julie

Karen,

Nice to "meet" you :) I'm pretty new to HOD myself-my first year homeschooling, and I, as well have gained so much insight and encouragement and instruction. This is quickly becoming my favorite hobby-cruising the HOD board :D . I'm sure it will be a blessing for you to be able to add your own insight and questions now-enjoy!

A wonderful testimony! Thank you for sharing. I just started with HOD this year, and it has been a blessing to me in such a major way! I love it, even though I don't do it all to a "Tee" the parts I do use consistently, my children enjoy immensely. We always do the History, Science and Bible portion, as well as the Poetry, the music and the readings. I love DITHOR also, as it encourages their minds to "think critically" and I love the book choices. What a blessing to use this curriculum. I feel very thankful and privileged to have found it. Down here where I live, very few have even heard of HOD, and I have recommended it to several people so far.

Blessings,
Tina

Karen,

I just wanted to say welcome and so glad you are loving HOD. You are getting to start at the really fun part with your child. By that I mean that you will see such a wonderful process as you progress through the guides and see how the Lord uses it in your children's lives and learning. It's been such a blessing to us and I know it will be for you as well. Welcome!
